As the year comes to a close and the holiday season envelops us in warmth and cheer, we at Cancer Research And Biostatistics (CRAB) are celebrating the spirit of giving this holiday season.
CRAB's Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion (DEI) committee facilitated two volunteer opportunities for our dedicated staff. The first involved a collaboration with YouthCare Seattle, whose mission is to end youth homelessness and to ensure that young people are valued for who they are and empowered to achieve their potential. CRAB volunteers prepared and served lunch for YouthCare’s clients with food donated from our colleagues across CRAB.
Additionally, our staff had the privilege of contributing their time to Mary’s Place, whose mission is to ensure that no child sleeps outside by fostering equity and opportunity for women and families. Staff who participated helped in numerous ways, including by donating items, helping with the assembly of the meal and essential item kits and by delivering the kits to the Mary’s Place offices.
Thank you to our DEI committee for organizing these volunteer opportunities and to our staff who participated in giving back to our community. We hope that 2024 will bring us more opportunities to collaborate, innovate, and make a difference in the fight against cancer.
